My New Camera

I got a new camera a few weeks ago and have been playing around with it a little bit. I am in love haha I decided to see what it would be like to use the close up setting on my camera and got some amazing pictures! Today I took a few more and edited some of them but other than playing with the coloration they are exactly what the camera took. I took some of the mini roses on my mom's rose bush and the others are of my adorable kitty Junior. He is very photogenic...when he wants to be haha

Enjoy!

This picture above and the one below are the same flower.
The first one was taken a couple weeks ago and then the second one was taken today :)

It totally looks like he has snake eyes haha

Now you have had a glimpse of what I get to hang out with every day! He's so adorable!

Honeymoon!!!

So I was bored tonight and realized that I hadn't put any pictures of our Honeymoon up.
We went to Disneyland and it was a blast!

This was the view from the airplane. I think this was above Utah somewhere.

 Another view from the window

Jake slept most of the time

This was my first time on an airplane. Yes you read that right, I have never been on an airplane before. But it wasn't as bad as I imagined and I lived so I guess it was ok :P

Awww. (don't mind me and my no makeup haha)

I wanted to ride on that carriage thing but we didn't get a chance to. Oh well, there's always next time right?

Us in line for Space Mountain. Jake had never been to Disneyland so he was pretty excited to get on a ride

Still in line for Space Mountain. When we came out it, Jake gave it a stamp of approval :)

We are sitting in the little boat about to go into the It's a Small World ride. Word to the wise? DON'T GO ON THIS RIDE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SANITY!!!!!!! I could see little kids enjoying it but if you are an adult who of their own free will and choice decides to go on this than you deserve the headache that you get afterward. Let's just say we learned our lesson and won't go back to that one.

It has a really cool looking outside but the inside.....*shudder*

 Churros! :D

On the Mark Twain boat around the pond. It was pretty cool looking and was fun to see the other parts of the park that you can only see by taking this.

Sorry I just had to throw this one in too :) haha

The nice attendant lady took this for us. I like it quite a lot :)

Here you can see the entrance to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride on the right. This was from the top of the ferry.

And of course we had to get a picture with the main man himself! Mickey Mouse!

This was in California Adventure. You can see the California Screamin' behind us along with the Sun Wheel. Jake very much enjoyed the California Screamin' so we went on it a bunch of times. It was great! He also talked me into going on the Tower of Terror ride. Those who have been to Disneyland with me know this is a big feat. And you know what? It wasn't even as bad as I remember it! I know! Me saying that about Tower of Terror. Who would have guessed haha.

I love Minnie Mouse :) When she saw our Just Married pins she wanted to see my ring and then said that she wanted Mickey to get her one like mine. It was pretty cute.

And of course we got pictures with Goofy. Who wouldn't?

Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother. Jake had to stand like a prince supposedly so that's what he's doing with his hands haha

Tigger!!! Megan, are you jealous? haha

I love Winnie the Pooh. I have loved him since I was little so I stood in line with the little kids to get a picture with him haha I got a couple of weird looks from the parents but I don't care haha.

Getting ready for the Tea Cups to start. I love Jake's smile :)

You like my Disneyland hoodie? I sure do!

 Woohoo!

 Cute Jake. Real cute.

Again! haha

Since I put funny ones of Jake up I figured I better put my funny one up. Don't laugh....too hard.

Me with Cinderella's Castle. It looks so awesome at night.

And to end the trip a better picture of the Castle.

We had a wonderful time in Disneyland and were exhausted by the time we get back but it was well worth it! We will be going back for anniversaries in the future I'm sure :)

Weekend in Rexburg

Well this weekend we went over to Rexburg for Memorial Day weekend. We stayed with Jake's brother Clay and his family. There were a total of 11 people in Clay and Madeline's house. 5 couples and Clay's son Landon. Speaking of Landon, he is so cute! He likes to take my cell phone a flip through the pictures and also turn it on and off and watch the Verizon Wireless logo go on and off. He thought that was so much fun and it was so fun to watch him play with it!

Jake and I left Friday night around 5 from Boise and we made it in almost exactly 4 hours. We got to Clay's house around 9 and we were the first ones there. Kristin and her boyfriend were next followed by Mike and his wife Elena. (Something really cool about Elena is that she is from Russia! She and Mike met online and she moved here when they got married in December! Pretty cool huh?) After Mike and Elena got there, Bryce and his wife Audrey came and they brought Clay and Madeline's new Siberian Husky puppy with them. It was a full house!

All weekend we were trying to come up with a good name for the new puppy. She came with the name Coda but Clay felt like that was too much of a boys name. We eventually came up with Kya. She is the most gorgeous dog I have ever seen. Clay breeds Huskies so Kya is the new "puppy machine". He has a pure white Siberian named Duke and a Malamute Husky named Angel. He just sold his last two puppies from the Angel/Duke litter and they were way cute. The mix is called an Alusky and they were the most adorable puppies. I am excited to see what the pure Siberians look like as puppies. Kya is only 5 months old so it will be a while before she will be able to have puppies but she will and they will be adorable just like their mommy :)

Kya is black and white and has the most gorgeous bright blue eyes. Here's a picture isn't she cute!?
So now that my schpeel about Kya is done I will continue with the weekend festivities.

Saturday morning everyone but Madeline and I went to the Ice Caves. They said they had a blast! I should have probably gone with them but I really really do not like tight enclosed spaces. Jake said he will take me sometime so I will be able to go but I didn't want to have a panic attack in front of all those people so I stayed home with Madeline and Landon. While we were there it started raining really hard and the window started to leak. Madeline and I put cups on the window sill to catch the water and we probably emptied the 4 cups at least 5 times each. We were using the little styrofoam cups but still, there was a lot of water coming in! After that excitement, Madeline went a laid down to take a nap. She's having a baby in September so I told her she should go lay down and not to worry about me because I had a book that I have been working on reading for almost a year now. She went to sleep and I read my book and then everyone came back.

We went to Big Juds for dinner that night and it was YUMMY!!!! Jake and I split the Big Jud Special which is a 1 lb. hamburger the size of a plate! It was so delicious but I could only finish 1/4 of it. We took the rest home and shared it after church on Sunday. Even the left overs were yummy! Anyway after Big Juds we all came home and then Jake and I went to get a couple of movies for us all to watch. We got the new Muppets movie which was.....interesting to say the least. It was good but it was more of a laugh at it movie than a laugh with it movie. We also got We Bought A Zoo which is such a great movie! I highly recommend it! We watched the Muppet movie and then determined it was time for bed.

Sunday we went to church and afterwards came back to the house. Bryce and Audrey had to leave right after sacrament meeting to go see his sister who lives in Victor, Idaho (the same place as my wonderful Aunt Karen :) ) and Mike and Elena had to leave around 5 to get back to Utah in time to pick up their daughter from the in-law's. That left Kristin and her boyfriend Jonathan and Jake and I. Monday morning we all got up and went out to kayak in the slew by Clay's house. It was fun to just kind of meander around in the kayaks. Kristin and Jonathan wanted to kayak to the river with Clay so while they were doing that Jake and I went into town in his trusty dirt bike (i love that thing). We picked up a few things from the storage unit, went to see where our new apartment is going to be and had lunch with some friends that are still there. It was very fun and much needed. We both miss Rexburg so much which is totally weird to say. It feels so good to go back and it will be nice when we get to have our own apartment again :)

We got back to Jake's house and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows in the fire pit in the back yard and then packed up to come back to Boise. It was a great weekend and I am so glad we were able to get out of town and do something fun!

Btw, here is a little video for your viewing pleasure of our adorable nephew Landon. He was having so much fun flipping over Clay's leg that I had to get a video of it!

See ya next time!

What We've Been Up To

Wow, I am not good at all about posting on my blog. I just redid everything, the name and the look of it. I'm still working out the kinks and trying new things but what do you think? :) Anyway, I'm going to try really hard to update this at least once a week with what's going on here in good ol' Nampa. So here we go.

We are living in Nampa with my parents because Jake got an Internship for his degree at American Construction Supply and Rental in Boise. So far he is enjoying it. He likes that he is doing something that is worthwhile and helping not only the bank account but also an actual business. He does deliveries, cuts and bends lots of rebar, cleans the shop and does pretty much whatever else the bosses tell him to do. I am so glad that he is enjoying it and that he feels like he is being a productive member of society.

I am taking 13 credits worth of classes online this semester so that I don't get behind while being away from campus. I am taking 5 classes, 3 that I need and two that sounded like they would be fun. I am taking a Family class based on The Family: A Proclamation to the World. I am loving it. My professor is great. He holds weekly meetings for the class and is awesome about answering emails quickly.

I am taking a Parenting class which is pretty good too. We just learned about the development of babies and how their brains are still developing and they start recognizing people and bonding with their parents. I can't wait to be a mommy. I see all the parents at church and I'll admit, it makes me a little baby hungry haha

I am taking an English class called Advanced Writing and Critical Thinking and it is pretty cool. For the semester final we are writing a research paper and we had to chose something related to my major. Since I am an education major I chose to research the effects of Online education. So far it's pretty good. Just plugging along. I really like my teacher. She offers extra credit each week and so I have something like a 105% in the class. I am pretty happy with that :)

I am taking a Pakistan class. It's not that interesting. It's my least favorite class but I'll live I guess. We had to do a narrated powerpoint on a topic that we signed up for at the beginning of the semester and mine was about the death of General Muhammed Zia-ul-Haq. Say that 5 times fast.

The last class that I'm taking is a Doctrine and Covenants class. It's ok. There is a lot of reading that is assigned for each week and sometimes it all piles up and I go crazy but we are learning a lot about the restoration of the church that is pretty interesting.

Wow, that's a lot of writing. I didn't realize that it was that long. How about i throw in a few pictures from a camping trip we took a couple of weeks ago with Jake's friend Amberlee and her husband. We went up to Silver City here in Idaho.

Here's me cuddled up in our twin size tent one morning.

The Catholic Church up on the hill

Here's the whole group

Here's a pretty cool view of Silver City. It is so cool to just walk around! Unfortunately we couldn't go into any of the buildings, but maybe when it gets closer to summer we will be able to!

There is an old cemetery up there that has some really cool looking headstones in it!

We wouldn't be camping without the dirtbike! :)

It was nice to get out of the house for a weekend and just enjoy the nice weather. It was a much needed break from school and work!

Today we are leaving for Rexburg to visit Jake's brother and his wife along with a couple of Jake's friends that are all coming up to visit for the weekend. It should be awesome! Be waiting for my post
about it next week!
