Yes you read that right, we are moving to Las Vegas. THIS WEEKEND!!!!
Freaking out? Who me? Never.
Ok so this is how it happened:
Yesterday Jake had a phone interview for a company named Southwest Gas Corporation in Las Vegas. We applied for this internship a few weeks before Christmas and we got a call on the 3rd of January (which also happened to be my birthday, that will be in another post though), where the person asked if we would be able to do a phone interview on the 7th. We said yes so they emailed us the number to call. Jake wasn't sure if he even wanted to call and do the interview because we had already decided that we were going to stay in Rexburg and take as many classes as we could. He ended up doing it because he figured that having more practice interviewing would be good for future internships so he calls, does the interview and the guys say that they will let him know within a few hours if he has an offer or not with the company. I was hoping that they wouldn't call back and we wouldn't have to worry about it, but within the hour Jake got a call saying that they would like to offer him the position if he would be willing to take it. Jake asked if we could have a little bit to talk it over and get back to them, they said of course so he hung up.
I had a really hard time accepting that we needed to move to Vegas for this internship because we would both be off track, and not mess up any of our classes or semesters. I fought it for a little bit and then gave in and Jake called them back and said that we would take it. So now we have been searching and searching for a place to live down there and also deciding what we were going to with our current apartment. We decided that we are just going to keep paying for this one while we are gone so that we can leave most of our stuff here and not have to box it all up and move it out and then try to find an apartment again when we come back to Rexburg at the beginning of April.
So that's what's been going on with us. I will write later about Christmas and other things but for now I am going to relax and try to enjoy myself for a few days before we have to move to a completely different state. :)
